Bro. Cliff Rideaux, Jr., affectionately known as “Kit,” departed this life, January 24, 2019, Vallejo, California.

Bro. Cliff was born on November 25, 1955, in Beaumont, Texas to Clifton Rideaux, Sr. and Shirley Rose Rideaux. As the eldest of three children, Bro. Cliff took his role as “big brother” very seriously, protecting his younger siblings.

As he grew older, he continued to have a heart for the protection of others through his work in law enforcement and security. He was an expert marksman. As a Sergeant for the Jefferson County Warrants Division, Bro. Cliff made a complete sweep at the Texas Peace Officers 3-part sharpshooting contest, scoring 8 bullseyes in 10 rounds from 25 feet. Bro. Cliff also obtained a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. He served in law enforcement with distinction and his duties included escorting dignitaries, most notable Andrew Young (former Ambassador to the UN and Mayor of Atlanta.) He later served as a Lieutenant for the Constable’s Department of Jefferson County, Texas.

Bro. Cliff met his wife Sis. Pam Rideaux, in Beaumont, Texas where they married in 1983. They later relocated to the San Francisco Bay area, where Bro. Cliff continued to work in the security industry, serving as a Security Officer for several notable hotel chains, including Hyatt Regency, Marriott, Silverado Resort and the Claremont Hotel where he managed a team of security staff and hired a number of our young brothers.

In December, 1986, the Lord dealt with Sis. Pam and she came to the Body of Christ through a co-worker. Bro. Cliff supported her spiritual journey. He had been strongly converted and read the Bible for many years. Bro. Cliff came into the Body of Christ in 2008. He received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, developing a deep personal relationship with the Lord through many trials and health conditions.

Bro. Cliff loved to fellowship with his brothers, playing dominos and going out to eat. His favorite foods were fried chicken, red beans and rice and gumbo. Bro. Cliff was also a huge motorcycle buff, thoroughly enjoying rides on his Harley Davidson. He was very analytical and enjoyed CNN, reading and researching the back stories behind current events.

Bro. Cliff loved the word of God and even in his final, challenging year, he would press through physical pain, balancing his Bible, Tablet and doctrine book as he participated in the services and Bible studies through the livestream. Bro. Cliff departed this life on January 24, 2019. He leaves a legacy of love and care for his family and the people of God. We will truly miss Bro. Cliff, remembering his courage and testimony of victory. Bro. Cliff qualifies for “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth; Yea saith the spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.” Rev. 14:13.

Bro. Cliff is survived by his loving wife, Pam Rideaux; his children Jasmine Rideaux and Deidre Rideaux; his mother, Shirley Rideaux and brother, Cappa J. Rideaux; several nieces and nephews, in-laws and the dear family of God.

Bro. Cliff is preceded in death by his father, Clifton Rideaux Sr., and sister Courtney Rideaux.
