Charles Alcott Jones, Jr., 74, native of Beaumont, Texas passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019 at Methodist Continuing Care Hospital in Katy, Texas.

Charles was a 1961 graduate of Charlton Pollard High School. He later served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He later graduated from Texas Southern University and Lamar University. He worked as a dedicated educator for the Beaumont Independent School District as a teacher, diagnostician and as a counselor with 35 years of service. Upon retirement Charles enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed his sons and grandchildren.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Charles Jones, Sr.; brothers, Kirkland Charles Jones, and Emmett Marion Jones, Sr.; and his sister, Melanie Jones Connor.

Precious memories are left to his sons and their wives, Kirkland and Jayleen Jones, and Jared and Marleshia Jones; sister, Rosemary M. Jones; grandchildren, Bailey, Eden, Jared II, David, Anias and Judah. Also, a host of other family and friends.

On Friday, April 12, 2019 there will be a wake from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Comeaux Community Funeral Chapel in Beaumont.

There will be a visitation at 8 a.m. followed by the homegoing service at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church located at 3390 Sarah St. in Beaumont. He will be laid to rest at Anthony Cemetery.
