Bennie Ray Hill was born, February 1, 1955 in Beaumont, Texas to Timothy Hill Sr. and Florida Key Hill. He graduated from South Park High School in 1973.

Bennie Ray was employed at the City of Beaumont for 18 years. He worked at Courville Catering Services and The Barn at Indian Springs for many years as their main bartender. Both places considered him family. He lent his mixology talents to other businesses and family functions over the years. He shared his craft and mentored others in the bartending and catering field like Monica Johnson-Murray his “work wife”. He never met a stranger, he loved to cook, and was the life of the party.

He confessed Christ at an early age where he attended Greater Good Hope Baptist Church. In his later years he became a member of Paradise Baptist Church. On July 16, 2020 God called him home to start a new celebration in Heaven.

Bennie Ray is preceded in death by his infant son, Little Bennie Hill Jr., sister Myrtle Hill Horde, and mother Florida Key Hill and best friend John Curtis Porter.

Bennie Ray loved his daughter, Ragean Hill of Charlotte, North Carolina. He also leaves to cherish his memories of his father, Timothy Hill Sr., brothers Forrest Hill (Angie) of Spring, TX, Timothy Hill Jr.  (Margie Nell), and Mark Hill, sisters Barbara Sigee (Edward), Theresa Hill (Brenda), Patricia Landry (Ernest) all of Beaumont, Texas. He also leaves to cherish 15 nieces and nephews, 25 great nieces and nephews, and four great nieces and nephews and best friend Derrick Mitchell. Many cousins and extended family and friends throughout Texas and Louisiana.
