Emmett Jackson, Jr. was born in Port Barre, Louisiana on November 28, 1928 to the late Emmett Jackson, Sr. and Mary Zachary Jackson. 

He enlisted in the U. S. Army serving during World War II.  He later went to work as a merchant marine in the capacity as a cook for Mobil Oil.

Besides being preceded in death by his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Emmett Jackson, III; siblings, Robert Jackson, Mae Bell Semien and Johnnie Henderson.

Memories are left to his daughter, Linda Jackson Richard (Maurice); brothers, Herbert Jackson and Eugene Jackson (Louise); sister, Annie Bell Scott; six grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.

There will be a visitation from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 10 a.m. at Comeaux Community Funeral Chapel located at 624 Irma St in Beaumont, TX. on Friday, February 15, 2019.  He will be buried with military honors at Houston National VA Cemetery under the care of Comeaux Community Funeral Chapel.
