Gerald Otis Harrington, Sr. was born on October 5, 1949 to Otis Harrington and Dorothy Leblanc Babino-Harrington in Beaumont, Texas. He was enrolled in the public-school system and graduated from Charlton Pollard High School in 1968. After graduation he served three tours in Vietnam and returned home to Beaumont, Texas, Southend Community.

Gerald loved cooking, raising pit bulls and being with family.

Gerald was proceeded in death by his parents, Otis and Dorothy Harrington; sister, Patricia Ann Harrington; mother-in-law, Willie Mae Mickens; brothers-in-law, Elton Martin, Sr. and Byron Wayne Mickens.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Janice (Jenny) Evans-Harrington of Beaumont, Texas; son, Gerald Harrington, Jr. (Brittany) of Beaumont, Texas; daughters, Germiithya “Tish” Hope-Coleman (Darrell) of Houston, Texas, Ebony Young of Kountze, Texas; step daughters, Yolanda Chatman, Desire Rochell Collins both of Beaumont, Texas; sister, Pauline Harrington-Martin of Beaumont, Texas; brother, Charles Harrington of Beaumont, Texas, special nieces, Birder Harrington-Thomas (Arthur), Tamika Martin (Warren) both of Beaumont, Texas; nephews, Elton Butch Martin, Jr. of Houston, Texas, Michael Harrington; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and a host of great nieces, great nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Special friend/caretaker Joseph “Sonny” Williams; special cousin Dorothy Mickens, host of cousins, the Wagner, Thomas, Mickens, Leblanc and Banks families.

On Saturday, March 21, 2020 there will be a visitation at 9 a.m. until the Celebration of Life funeral service at 11 a.m. at St. John Baptist Church located at 855 Sherman St. in Beaumont.  He will be buried with on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. at  the VA National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
