Remembering Henry Joseph Keyes

Henry was born on July 7, 1941 to  the late George and Martle Paillet Keyes in Opelousas, Louisiana. He was baptized at an early age at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas.

Later his family moved to Port Arthur, Texas where his family join Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Henry attended grade school and graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School in 1960. Upon graduation Henry proudly enlisted into the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War serving six years and attaining the rank of a Sergeant.

Before Henry was called home to our Lord and Saviour, he worked as a self-employed automotive mechanic. 

Henry lived a long and fruitful life and was adored by many until God called Henry home on Monday, September 2, 2019. Precious memories are left to his loving companion, Elizabeth “Liz” Mouton; daughter, Paula D. Keyes; grandson, Ramone Keyes; brother, John Keyes; sister, Mary Harris (Elton); and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Murphy Keyes, Roland Keyes and George Phillip Keyes.

There will be a visitation on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. at Comeaux Community Funeral Chapel, 624 Irma St. in Beaumont.

On Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 920 Booker T. Washington Ave. in Port Arthur, Texas there will be a visitation at 8:00 a.m. until the Rosary at 9:20 a.m.

The funeral mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the church.

On Monday, September 9, 2019 at 9:30 a.m., Henry will be laid to rest with military honors at the Houston National VA Cemetery in Houston, Texas under the professional care and direction of Comeaux Community Funeral Chapel.
