Melvin Joseph Maxwell Jr. was born on August 21, 1983 to Germain Jackson Eddie (Rodney Dewayne) and Melvin Joseph Maxwell, Sr. (Phyllis Hurd) In Houston, Texas.

Melvin graduated from Central Medical Magnet High School in Beaumont, Texas. He graduated from Lamar Institute of Technology in Beaumont, Texas, with an Associate Degree in Welding.

Melvin met and  married Vantreischa Shakeitha Allison-Maxwell . He worked in construction as a laborer in various refineries.

Melvin accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior early in his life. He was baptized in 1988 at Greenpoint Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. He served as an usher. Then, he became a member of Cathedral of Faith Baptist Church in Beaumont, Texas in 1995. Most recently, he was a member of World Mission Society Church of God in Beaumont, Texas.

Melvin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sandra Jackson, Clemon & Geneva Malbreau, Eddie James & Verma Dean Maxwell and Ernestine Maxwell.

Melvin leaves to cherish his memories his children Madalya Janiese Maxwell , My’reaka Jachole Maxwell , Montreal Jermaine Maxwell , Jasys Louis,  Amaru Wheeler,  Mashanna Justice Maxwell,  Chrishaun Lil’Mel Maxwell and Zy’ion Larry Venzant; his siblings, Ethan Brock (Kandis), Karen White, Teri White, Terrence White and Jonathan McKinsey (Kira) ;  grandparents, Dr. Kenneth Otis & Ruby Jewel Lyons and James Aubrey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
