Namond’s Life Story

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. Psalm 98:4 (KJV)

On August 26, 1971, Emery Scott, Sr. and the late Jeanetta Boudreaux Scott were blessed with their last bundle of joy that they named Namond.  He was born and raised in Beaumont Texas. Namond graduated from Central High School in 1989 where he played football and participated in ROTC. Namond, who was a fierce competitor, an advocate for the underdog and who believed that all of us can do great things. He was born with a love for music that he inherited from both sides of his family.  He knew how to use music to reach the hearts of so many. Namond was blessed to take piano lessons at a young age to enhance his God given talent. The church of the Living God is where his musical humble beginning would begin. Namond was known to push many musicians and singers to press forward and reach their musical greatness. He continued to serve God with gladness through song at Paradise Baptist Church until his health began to fail.

On February 13, 2018, Namond became the happiest man in the world as he married the love of his life: Yolanda Kyle. To this union Namond instantly became a DAD to six children: Decoya, La’Keisha, Joseph, La’Toysha, Kiana and Dontorrie.

On October 22, 2018 the earth stood still as Namond, who graced our lives for forty-seven years, finished his course. To his family and friends, the song” It Will Be Alright” which was Namond’s favorite song will have a new meaning. We know that through God’s Mercy with Namond’s life, everything “Is Alright”. He will always be remembered as a dedicated husband, an awesome dad, a spoiling grandfather, a loving son, a faithful brother, a cool uncle, a wonderful cousin and friend.  His mother; Jeanetta Scott, his grandparents: Perry and Essie Scott and Sidney and Francis Boudreaux, his brother: Sidney Scott, his brother-in- law: Darrell Charles, precede him in death.

While missing Namond is indescribable, he leaves to cherish his memory, his dedicated wife, Yolanda, his four bonus daughters: Decoya Grant, La’Keisha Young, La’Toysha (Jozhenethean) Nickerson, and Kiana Davis, his two bonus sons: Joseph (Jazmine) Young and Dontorrie Davis, his six bonus grandchildren: Jayla, Jamya, Joseph,Jr., Jaylie, Jeremiah, and Jazmine , his devoted father:  Emery Scott, Sr., his two brothers; Emery (Ethel) and Perry (Sharon) Scott, his sisters: Essie (John) Andrus, Frances (John) Thomas, Hernietta Leger, Laura (Walter) Crossley and Sharon Charles. He also leaves a host of go?d-children cousins and lifetime friends.

On Monday, October 22, 2018 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Namond answered his heavenly Father to began his heavenly transition.
