Nathaniel “Pop” Stephens, Jr. of Beaumont, Texas was declared cancer “free” by the Great Physician, Our Lord on May 15, 2017.

Born in Beaumont, Texas on January 4, 1956 to Nathaniel and Jo Helen Stephens. Nathaniel was the fourth of five brothers from this union.

Nathaniel attended Beaumont ISD schools and graduated from Charlton Pollard High School as Class of 1974. He was a proud graduate of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 479.

“Pop” as his family and friends affectionately called him, truly loved the Lord, and was a very faithful servant. Nathaniel was preceded in death by his father Nathaniel Stephens Sr. and his step-mother Quetta Piper Stephens.

He leaves to forever cherish memories his dedicated wife of 21 loving years Marilyn Flanagan Stephens; his children, Nathaniel Prentice and Brandi Nicole; his mother, Jo Helen; his brothers, Nathan Wayne (Deborah), Kentha Earl, Darrell Lee (Zena), Jeffery Ryan (Rita), Jerico Ryan; his grandson, Nicholas Ashton Garcia; and a host of relatives.

Celebration of Life services will be at 1 P.M. on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church located at 710 Interstate 10 E @ Pine St., Beaumont, TX.

He will take his earthly rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
