Robert Allen “Blue” Burton, son of the late Alton and Rosie Lee Burton was born on December 2, 1941 in Beaumont, Texas. At an early age, he became a devout member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, where later he was appointed a trustee of the church.

Robert graduated in 1959 from Charlton Pollard High School. He worked for Texas Highway Department for two years prior to being drafted into the Vietnam War. After being discharged from the service, he worked for Southern Pacific Railroad. In 1972, he graduated from Lincoln Business College with a diploma in Business Administration. He received an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology from Lamar University in 1977.  Robert loved managing his A/C business and was known in the community for his warm, kind personality and for his ability to sense when people needed help. He believed in sharing, showing compassion, and helping others.  Robert was hired by Texaco Refinery, which later became Huntsman, and remained there until he retired, after 33 years of service, in 2001.

Robert was united in holy matrimony to Mildred West on December 11, 1965. This union was blessed with two dedicated and wonderful sons, Robert “Bobby” Allen Burton Jr and Dr. Chad Patric Burton.

On June 4, 2020, God called Robert home with open arms. He was preceded in death by: his father and his mother, Alton and Rosie Lee Burton; his brother, Alton Burton Jr; and his sister, Patricia Burton-Williams.

His one-of-a-kind memories will always be cherished by his lovely wife, Mildred Burton; his sons, Bobby (Kara) and Dr. Chad (Cheryl); his grandchildren: Kaytlin, Chad II, Drew, and Micah; his siblings: Walter Burton, Richard Burton (Marian), Alverta Henderson, Larry Burton (Beverly), Linda Thomas, Linda Burton, Mary Nell Burton, Johnny Ray Burton and Gayle Burton; and a host of wonderful nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing before the Celebration of Life from 9-11am on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church located at 1175 Isla Ave, Beaumont, TX 77703.  The service will begin at 11:00am.  Robert will be laid to rest at Live Oak Cemetery located at 12563 W. Port Arthur Rd., Nederland, TX 77627.
