Wayne Edward White Sr. was born on December 29, 1953, to proud and loving parents Daniel and Bessie White in Warren Texas. He is one of eight children born to this union. His family and friends affectionately knew him as “Butch-Rabbit”.
Wayne accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age. Wayne was very strong in his faith. He was a member of Studewood Church of Christ. He graduated from Warren High School. After graduating, he joined the United States Army, he later attended the City of Houston Fire Academy where became a firefighter.
Being a firefighter was something that he loved very much and he retired after 20 years with the City of Houston. After retiring from the City of Houston, he became a para-professional/basketball coach with Westfield High School. This was something that he loved and was very proud of, his students, co-workers and players loved him very much.
On Friday, March 9, 2018 at CHI St. Luke Medical Center in Houston, Texas, Wayne was called from his earthly labor to began transitioning to his heavenly reward.
He leaves to cherish in his memories, his loving and dedicated wife of 45 years Deborah White; daughter, Martina Conley (Terrell); sons, Wayne White Jr. (Shawn) and Jason White (Candace); seven grandchildren, Josh Jones, Ochea White, (Gregory Means, preceded in death), Diamond White, Chadre’ White, China White and Cadence White; sisters, Marva Bradley (Freddy), and Jeanetta Howard; brothers, Reverend Daniel White Jr. (Annie), Ruben White (Vivian), Jessie White (Wanda), Robert White (Linda) and Adrian White; aunts, Mary E. Williams (Jimmy), Mary Coger, Nettie Mae Wells; brothers-in-law, Charles Cade (Ethel), and John Cade (Evelyn); sister-in-law, Barbara Cade; host of cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel White Sr. and Bessie White; sisters, Shirley White and Brenda White; brother, Donald Shiloh White, grandparents, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
On Saturday, March 17, 2018 there will be a visitation at 11 a.m. until the home going service at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Woodville, 202 S. Charlton St. in Woodville, TX. He will take his earthly rest at Moss Hill Community Cemetery in Woodville.
