Arilla B. Young, 92, of Beaumont, TX, passed away on Monday, May 4 2020, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. She was born in Rockhill, Texas to the late Rev. Hardy and Thelma Bryant.
She met and married West Young, Jr. on November 9, 1946. They moved to Beaumont to raise their family. There was never a dull moment in their home, where they raised their 12 children with lots of love and discipline.
She retired as a nurses aide from St. Elizabeth Hospital.
She was preceded in death on August 22, 2012 by her husband, West of 65 years; her son, Kenneth Morris Young; twin sister, Tearilla Williams; and brothers, Rev. John H. Bryant and Freddie Bryant, Sr.
Arrilla leaves precious memories to her sons ,and their wives, Jimmy L. and Doris Young, Wesley J. and Joyce Young, Hardy R. and Yvette Young, Robert E. and Lynn Young, John A. and Lisa Young, Pastor Jerry W. and Barbara Young, Ricky N. and Karen Young, and Ronald Young of Beaumont; daughters and husbands, Barbara Y. and Terry Howard, of Baltimore, MD, Linda Y. and Ronald Birdsong, and Bertha Y. and Rev. Allen Williams of Beaumont; brother, Nelson Bryant; sister in law, Jane Fontenot; 34 grandchildren; host of great grandchildren and great great grandchild; a loving host of other relatives and many friends.
There will be visitation from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, May 9, 2020, at McKinley Ave. Baptist Church, 775 Cuniff St., in Beaumont. Until the Trumpets Sound, Arrilla will join West to take her Earthly Rest at Zion Hill Cemetery in Jasper, TX, under the professional direction and care of the Comeaux Community Funeral Chapel staff.
