Johnnie B. Owens was born to Jessie Lee Beaty Nobles and Alexander Nobles on April 20, 1935 in Beaumont, Texas.  She was called home on July 13, 2020 to be with her Heavenly Father.

Johnnie attended Hebert High School in Beaumont and graduated in the year 1953. She later went on to continue her education at Lamar University.  After graduating and becoming certified, she started her career as a nurse and later as a nutritionist, both in the hospital and private sectors.

Johnnie married her spouse Charles Allen Owens on June 7, 1956. They were married for 50 years before the passing of Charles on June 1, 2006.

While following her Navy husband through his deployments, she gave birth to her first three children, Sandra, Kevin, and Kenneth in California, next she had Keith in Texas, Naim in Virginia, Marc in Rhode Island, and finally moving back to Texas she gave birth to Duane and Diana.

Johnnie B. Owens was a woman of pride, strength, and strong will. Any time her mind was set to accomplish anything, she was sure to do it. She was a woman who carried herself well and walked strong in her faith in Christ. She made sure those around her were taken care of as well as herself. Her house was always open to all her family and was the gathering spot for every holiday and family event. She was a woman who would not falter.  A woman who left a mark on the many she met. She will be remembered.

She is survived by her sons; Kevin Owens, Keith Owens, Naim Abdul-Aziz, Marc Owens and Duane Owens as well as her daughters; Sandra Flowers and Diana Owens-Thompson.
