Mozell was born on July 5, 1938 in Beaumont, Texas to Albert and Rosa Brown Hope 17th child. 

She graduated from Charlton Pollard High School.

Mozell united in marriage to Joseph Laday, Jr. on December 14, 1953 and to that union they were blessed with eight children.

Mozell worked as a cook for Dr. W. J. Lett for many years.

Mozell was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church until she joined the fellowship of Borden Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in 1979 and was baptized by Reverend Perry Busby Jr. She served faithfully as an usher on the Senior Usher Board. She later joined Paradise Baptist Church.

Mozell was preceded in death by her parents, 16 siblings, 1 granddaughter and a loving husband of 55 years.

Mozell leaves to cherish her memories her daughters, Alberta Laday of Lynwood, California, Elizabeth Laday Harrison, Evelyn Laday Frankling (O. C.), Mary Laday Johnson (John), Catherine Laday Freeman (Kenneth) of Beaumont, Texas; sons, Joseph Laday III (Marlaina) of Kirbyville, Texas Albert Laday Sr. (Mary), Roylee Laday (Krystal) of Beaumont, Texas; grandchildren, Chantelle, Donovan, Walter, Donald, Candice, Rodney, Catherine, Roylee, Shekita, Natasha, Michael, LeJuene (deceased), Ironesha, Emily, Albert, Travis, Nicole, Joe, Naeshia, Byron and Jordan; 37 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mozell dedicated her life to extending love and generosity to every person who entered her life. 

Mozell will be remembered for her positive attitude and loving spirit. She touched the lives of all of her family in a way that will live on forever. 

There will be a visitation on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Comeaux Community Funeral Chapel and also on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. until the home-going service at 11:00 a.m. at Paradise Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Magnolia Cemetery.
