Ruth Pier, 83 of Beaumont, TX transitioned from her earthly home to be with her Lord at The Gardens-Altus Hospice Inpatient Pavillion on Friday, May 5, 2017.

Ruth was a blessing and the baby girl of Lizzy Kelly and Zay Collier was born on October 13, 1933 in Kirbyville, Texas. She was reared in a community of love and family in Voth, TX.

While growing up Ruth made a number of friends and very close relationships. One of which turned out to be with the love of her life CP Pier. Through this union a loving family came forth consisting of three sons and two daughters.

Aunt Rat Mama love life and lived it spending time with family and friends…telling stories and making memories with everyone that came in contact with her. Known for her cooking, dressing up and entertaining….all that came in contact with her would have a story to tell about this wonderful woman.

Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved CP Pier; twin sons, Alvin and Calvin; parents, Zay and Lizzy Collier; brothers, Jack, Jeffrey, Richard, Melvin, Harold and Earl; and sisters, Ida Bell Robinson and Blanche Riley.

Sweet loving memories are left to her son Billy Ray Pier, Sr. and his wife, Monica; daughters, Cherlyn Hopkins and her husband, David and Janice Pier; grandchildren, Christopher Pier, David Hopkins (Crystal), Damien Hopkins, Billy Ray Pier, Jr., Kaylan, Krystal and Kelsey Bradley and a great grandson, Billy J. Pier; sister-in-laws, Mary Collier and Willie V. Reed and a host of other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life services will be at Borden Chapel Baptist Church on Saturday, May 13, 2017 located at 3495 Roland Rd. in Beaumont. There will be a visitation 9 a.m. until the home-going service at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest at Voth Community Cemetery under the professional care and direction of Comeaux Community Funeral Chapel.
