Vivian McCarter, 82 of Beaumont, TX passed away at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, April 1, 2018.

 

Vivian was born to Ned and Hettie McCarter in Wiergate, Texas in Newton County.  She was raised in the Indian Hill Community and attended school in Wiergate. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Sarah Etta Spikes; brothers, Rubun, A.J., Ned, Early, Mack A., Felton and Isaiah McCarter.  

 

She came to Beaumont with one suitcase.  She became a successful cosmetologist and operated her own salon.  She later worked as a private duty nurse.

 

Heartfelt memories are left to her devoted son, James McCarter (Pam Petry); grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan, and Cori and a host of family and friends.  

 

On Friday, April 6, 2018 from 12 noon until 5 p.m. a visitation will be held at Comeaux Community Funeral Chapel in Beaumont.  On Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Pleasant Hill CME Church, County Rd. 1064, Wiergate, TX. there will be a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the home-going service at 11:30 a.m.

 

She will take her earthly rest at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
