On Saturday, December 23, 1961 Joycelyn Faye Jackson was born to Leon “Bobby” Jackson and Odelia M. Pattum in Jennings, Louisiana.

She migrated to Beaumont, Texas in 1989 where she was a faithful member of Solid Rock Community Church serving under the leadership of Bishop Smith and Pastor Allen James. Where she was the head cook for Friday worship service.

She worked at St. Elizabeth hospital in Beaumont Texas, later in her life she also served as the head cook of Y.Y.A.F.A. program. She was a active part of her community, making sure the children had a healthy meal.

On May 2, 2017 at the age of 55 she left her memory to her children, Lemicha Jackson of Beaumont Texas, Dominick Jackson (Raichele) of Oakland Califonia, and Damien Nixon of Beaumont Texas, seven grandchildren, Meosh, Aquaishia, Tyress, Sterling, Raven, and Dominick Jr., three great grandchildren, Brandon, E’Miyah, King, and Heavenly; brothers, Carl Jackson and Andrew Jackson, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Odelia, and brothers, Michael and Scotty.

The visitation will be at 9 a.m. followed by the Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at New Hope Baptist Church located at 205 Prudhomme St. in Welsh, Louisiana under the professional care and direction of Comeaux Community Funeral Chapel.
