My Life’s Legacy

Wonderful

Pamela Denise Thomas was born January 24, 1963 in Beaumont, Texas, to James Jones and Gloria Hodge. The second oldest child, from the age ofsix years old,she was raised by her “Daddy” James H. Broussard, Sr., and her mother.

“Pam” also known as “P-Nutt”/”P.Diddy” as she was called by her family and close friends, was a 1981 graduate of French High School. Her formative years were spent at Lucas Elementary and Lincoln Middle School, where she was a member of the basketball team. She was an active member of Greater Little Zion Baptist Church as a young child and a teenager, until she united with Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.

She lived in Atlanta, Georgia for four years before returning home where she was employed by the Beaumont Civic Center. She later became a longshoreman with the International Longshoremen’s Association Local 1316 until her demise.

Pamela was a very hard-worker. She painted professionally for many people. Her business card, made by her baby sister, Kim, proclaimed “PAINT LIKE A PRO”. Pam love entertainment, celebrities and music. Everywhere she went, or whomever she came in contact with, left with a great impression of her wit, her sayings, and her hand gestures. Because of her loving and caring spirit, her presence was sure to bring laughter and joy. If she knew someone was ill with a cold or the flu, she would make the best care-bags filled with a variety of cough/cold medicines, Gatorade, water, orange juice and the warmest card or letter that would brighten your day.

Predeceased by her birth father, her grandmothers, Ora Lee Apple and Loubertha Broussard, grandfather, Alfred Broussard, Sr., and aunts, Letha Garner and Sheila Rideau, our Dear Pamela met her demise on July 8, 2019 in Beaumont, Texas.

Cherishing sweet memories are her parents, James H., Sr., and Gloria Broussard; sisters, Cynthia Thomas-Ridley (Fred) and Kim Broussard-Grant (Bennard); brothers, Cedric Thomas (Michelle), and James Broussard, Jr. Cousins, André Castille, Todd Castille, and Dianna Woodside-Whitaker; step-brother and sisters, Cedric Marsh, Candace Wilkes and Donny Jones. Nieces and nephews: Henry, Cresha, Keyen, Cedra, Cedric, Kennedy, Kysha, Kortlin, Kenlyn, David, Monica, Lil Reggie and Ryan, a special family friend, Aquinear “Tiny” Wilturner, other relatives and many friends.
