Pastor Rosetta Jones, affectionately known to many as Rosie, Mom, Granny transitioned to her eternal home in glory on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
She was a native of Call, TX and was born as Rosetta Spikes to the union of Alvin Spikes, Sr. and Jeanette Samuel Spikes. She is number 5 out of 11 children. During her early years she moved from Call to Beaumont and graduated from Hebert High School in Beaumont, TX.
Over the course of her life and extended career, she has served in various capacities and has been a positive influence that has impacted the lives of so many. She was the Founder and Executive Director of Statewide Consolidated Community Development Corporation, Inc. in Beaumont, TX where her overall goal and mission was to help those who were less fortunate achieve home ownership, secure employment opportunities, and have access to other services.
She was also the Founder and Pastor of the Kingdom Connection Outreach Church in Beaumont, TX where she served tirelessly to spread the gospel and connect souls to Christ. She was a powerful force and influence in her family, the community, the church, and every life that she encountered.
She is preceded in death by her parents Alvin Spikes, Sr. and Jeanette Samuel Spikes, and her brother Calvin Spikes. Her legacy will live on through her husband, Rev. Robert Jones, Sr.; her children, Tina Henderson (Tim), Terri Jones (Charles), Robert Christopher Jones (Kala), and seven precious grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish the memories of her life to her, sisters, Maxcine Burnistine (Burnie), Everlina Lee, Linda Jones (Bowden), Betty Ford (Clinton), Mary Spikes and Wilma Spikes; brothers, Alvin Spikes, Jr. (Barbara), Charles Spikes and Clifton Spikes. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, a host of other relatives, her extended family, The Kingdom Connection Outreach Church, close Pastors, Ministers and friends that will forever remember and cherish her legacy.
A Christian Wake Service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 6 P.M. – 9 P.M. at Kingdom Connection Outreach Church located at 3655 Highland Avenue, Beaumont, TX. The Celebration of Life Home-Going Service will follow on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 11 A.M. at Kingdom Connection Outreach Church. Interment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Chapel under the direction of Comeaux Community Funeral Chapel.
