Esther Marie Randle Navy, the youngest child of Robert and Agatha Randle, was born January 8, 1935, in Beaumont, Texas, where she attended the Blessed Sacrament  Catholic School.

She was a very proud graduate of Xavier University in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she majored in Education.

In 1961, she met and married Ernest Navy. Together, they raised four sons in a loving and caring home.

After moving to Galveston County, Esther joined the parish at Our Lady of Queen of Peace in La Marque, Texas. She was a loyal and faithful member, serving as a greeter, choir member, and a founding member of the C.A.P.A.  organization.

Esther was a strong advocate for education.  She taught for over twenty years in the Hitchcock Independent School District.  After her retirement, she continued to stress the importance of a good education and would promote her belief whenever given the opportunity.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers and sisters, and one grandson.

She is survived by her sons, Raymond Anthony Merrick of Beaumont,  Gary Vincent Navy of League City, Texas, Ernest Jude Navy of Friendswood, Texas and Kary Michael Navy of Texas City, Texas;  eleven grandchildren; one great-grandson; niece Phyllis Lawson; nephew Bill Jefferson, Jr.; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitations will be on November 20, 2020, from 5 pm to 7 pm, followed by a Vigil and Rosary at 7 pm. The Funeral Mass will be Saturday, November 21, 2020, at 10 am, with a viewing beginning at 9 am.  Both services will be held at St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in Texas City with burial at Live Oak Memorial Park,  12563 W Port Arthur Rd in Beaumont at 1:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that her love for education be recognized through donations made to the ARC of the Gulf Coast or donations made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
