Today, I was thinking about St. John and was searching for pictures of the church on google and learned about Rev. Beasley's passing. My heart is broken! Rev. Beasley was one of, if not, my earliest influence and mentor in my Christian walk. My wonderful Grandparents, Charlie & Mackey Iles KEPT me in church! They entrusted Rev. and First Lady to instill in me the values I would need to make it thru this life. Between Rev. telling me and my cousins to "stop running thru the church hallways, You children will respect Gods church", First Lady correcting our foul notes and tempos in youth choir and just remembering all the old church hymns sang, The two of them will forever hold a historical and monumental place in my heart. Due to much of what was learned from Rev. and First Lady Beasley, I'm STILL VERY active in my church today as a Praise & Worship leader and singer. I am thankful to Rev. Dr. O. J. Beasley, Jr. and First Lady for their role in planting a good seed and starting a solid Christian foundation in my life. Will forever Love you both. ~Chris Isles~
